Rock O’Clock!

Having successfully negotiated the is it a genre/isn’t it a genre drama of Film Soundtracks, we stand poised, ready to leap onto the next branch of the Music Tree. Prepare for much rocking, ‘n’ much rolling, for this week’s genre is none other than Rock ‘n’ Roll!

John Lennon said “if you tried to give Rock ‘n’ Roll another name, you might call it ‘Chuck Berry'”, so for musical explorers’ listening pleasure, I introduce the Rock ‘n’ Roll album of the week, One Dozen Berrys by Chuck Berry. Released in 1958, One Dozen Berrys was the second album of Berry’s long and distinguished career; a career that hasn’t ended: he still plays today!  Enjoy!
