Take a train to the Country

Another week, another album, and this week we will be exploring Country music. Continuing our John Lennon Introduces mini-series, we will set the scene for this week’s Country artist with some wise words from the late, great, quote machine:

“Before Elvis, there was nothing”  ~ John Lennon

So who better to represent Country music than Elvis’ fellow rockabilly pioneer Johnny Cash? (Tenuous link? I think not!) Afterall, Elvis and Cash were both members of The Million Dollar Quartet, sometimes called the world’s first supergroup.

Anyway, back to business: this week’s record is the 1960s concept album Ride This Train from Johnny Cash. Look out for Country music trivia throughout the week, and our thoughts on Ride This Train will go up on Sunday.
