The musical adventure resumes

Well I am all Christmassed out! The Christmas break has come to an end, and we are exploring once more. So what better way to recover from seasonal excess than with the soulful sounds of Motown? For this week of our musical adventure we are climbing back onto the branches of the Music Tree, and listening to Where Did Our Love Go by the Supremes.

The Supremes were very popular throughout the 60s, and enjoyed some success, in various guises, in the 70s. Their feminine image and mainstream pop appeal stood out among the edgier Rock ‘n’ Roll music of the time, and their popularity rivaled that of the Beatles. Where Did Our Love Go was the Supremes’ second album, and it was released on the Motown record label in 1964.

Each week Fran and Dave explore a new genre from the Music Tree by choosing an album to represent it. We write about the genre or artist during the week, and post our reviews on Sunday. Want to join the musical adventure?
