It’s Alright Now – Dave’s Review

This fortnight, I have been listening to So Long, See You Tomorrow by Bombay Bicycle Club. I found it an entertaining indie pop album, full of texture and containing a range of styles.

The first half of the record is consistently good with the cheery It’s Alright Now and Home By Now my particular highlights. Carry Me has more of a dancey sound with it’s repeated lyric reminiscent of fellow British band Delphic, whilst opening track Overdone has a confident rock swagger to it.

The second half of the record is generally less strong however. Delicate, piano-based ballad Eyes Off You pulls on the heartstrings a little before the introduction to Feel adds an Indian flavour to the album. I imagine final track So Long, See You Tomorrow is called as it is because it is (a) too long and (b) good to fall asleep to.
